Ed Sheeran Confirmed for the New City of Rock in 2024

Ed Sheeran no Rock in rio

The artist behind the latest hit, “Autumn Variations,” is set to return on June 16, 2024, to Rock in Rio Lisbon, which is taking place for the first time in Parque Tejo, Lisbon

This won’t be the first time Ed Sheeran, known for hits like “Shape of You,” “Thinking Out Loud,” and “Perfect,” has visited Portugal. In June 2019, he sold out two concerts at Estádio da Luz in Lisbon.

Now, he’s back on the Palco Mundo stage in 2024, precisely 10 years after his debut in our country.

Parque Tejo Hosts Rock in Rio Lisbon 2024

The big news is that the Palco Mundo stage won’t be in the same place anymore as Rock in Rio has announced it will leave Parque da Bela Vista and relocate to Parque Tejo, the venue that hosted World Youth Day Lisbon 2023.

On June 15, 16, 22, and 23, 2024, the gates to the new City of Rock will open to the public in Parque Tejo, Lisbon.

“Autumn Variations” with Songs Recorded in Fans’ Homes

Certainly, some of the songs the British artist will bring to the Portuguese capital are from his latest album, “Autumn Variations.” This album made history as 14 fans had the privilege of receiving Ed Sheeran in their living rooms to record the special live version, called “Fan Living Room Sessions.”

Part of the proceeds from the original album and the album with the home performances will be donated to Save the Music, a foundation that helps underprivileged children access music education.

A Career of Successes

Ed Sheeran has already sold 56 million albums and 150 million singles worldwide and is one of the most sought-after and promising artists of his generation. In 2015, he made history as the first artist ever to play at Wembley Stadium in London, solo – no band, just a guitar and loop pedal – for three consecutive sold-out nights. In the summer of 2019, he made history again with his massive Divine Tour, officially becoming the most attended tour of all time.
